I tried FF8 but couldn't finish it, just didn't like it. Never tried any of the later versions.
Final Fantasy Tactics was a great concept for the time, I liked that game a lot.
FF7 is the ultimate. I have the PC version as well as the Playstation version. Keep a couple of late saves on the PC just to go through the final battle sequence which is awsome.
Although, defeating Sepheroth is only the 3rd hardest battle. Getting the underwater Weapon is the second most difficult and the Ruby Weapon in the desert is by far the hardest. By the time you beat these two (which are actually optional), defeating Sepheroth is like flicking a flea.

Final Fantasy after 6 went downhill imo.
I liked 7 but it was nothing on the story of the early ones.

if you loved 7 but didnt like 8, youlll probably really like 9. it gets back to the same feel as 7 did. alot of people arent big fans of 8, but 8 set me up to really love 10 and 10-2. i lost my version of 10 somewhere and i am on the final boss. i keep dieing and i wanna fucking beat it! i havent played it since i was 17! i need to beat it.  |

there has always been that "interactive movie" thought that goes with FF series. But what about Tactics? its not as bad as all the others and gets back to more of the root of RPG's.
