Just a thought - when we played new characters, we always started them out on lv2, giving max HP for lv1 and rolling for lv2.
It sucks when you get a lv1 character and he's gopher bait.
You can still do a pretty basic campaign at lv2 if you're worried about starting out simple.

What was you gonna post? Where you going to tell them that melee characters generally phail at life? That make things clearer? And I'm not opposed to level one for the new people as long as we do 2x hp/hp+con score (I prefer the latter). Reasoning: It's more fun to build up a character from lvl 1. You'll end up with all sorts of wonderful little tidbits and oddities you'd never buy building a higher level character.

Don't worry, I plan on running several games eventually. The level 9 games is a lot more story and RP oriented, and it kinda goes deep and is a bit more engaging. Right now I only have a fuzzy idea about the plot of the level 1 one.

Of course. Four people so far. I'll probably start preliminary shizzle now or soon. If I could get a board it would be nice, and I'll accpet more people.

So what are people looking at playing?
I'm willing to play pretty much anything, although I'm starting to mold a rough form for my character.

Well, if this is starting level 9, I'm not going to use yilduz. I have a few different kinds of characters I want to play. I guess I'll wait a little more for a tiny bit of information on the setting. I don't want to be a druid if we're completely in an urban environment, it makes no sense. Generally speaking, I think I want to play a utility character. I rarely play something that focuses mostly on helping the party. Maybe some sort of scout/healer or something. Not heavy on the combat, but vital to the survival of the party. Someone that could fight if it's needed, though. Heh, I think I just talked myself into what I want to play.

The setting is hugely varied. There'll be cities and forests, etc.

Alright I've a few character ideas I'm working on (we don't have a game thread yet so I'm putting 'em here) Great-hammer weilding, thunder-y paladin ( this paladinA free-spirit hippie/philosopher rogue Some sort of wizard (probably a necromancer) I'll probably have more ideas and scrap others.
